Marathwada region reports 1,907 new cases of COVID, 14 deaths

Aurangabad, Mar 12: The eight districts of Marathwada region of Maharashtra state reported 1,907 fresh cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, and 14 more deaths, the health authorities informed here on Friday.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI shows that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad district was worst affected as it recorded 902 cases and nine deaths, followed by Jalna which recorded 204 new cases and two deaths, Nanded registered 254 new cases and single death, Parbhani registered 82 new cases and single death, Hingoli registered 71 new cases and single death, Beed registered 185 cases and and Osmanabad had 58 cases.

As per official data, 14,317 fresh cases of COVID-19 and 57 more deaths were reported across the state, taking the state’s cumulative tally to 22,66,374 and the death toll to 52,667.

On the other hand, 7,193 patients were discharged during the day across the state, taking the overall countof recoveries to 21,06,400.

There are currently 1,06,070 active cases in the state that are undergoing treatment across the state.

The recovery rate in the state currently stands at 92.94 per cent and death rate stands at 2.32 percent, the health department informed.(UNI)
