Aurangabad, Feb 22 : The eight districts of Maharashtra’s Marathwada region reported 515 fresh COVID-19 positive cases were detected during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on today.

However,the authorities also reported that eight deaths were reported due to the pandemic during the same period.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI show that out of the eight districts of the region are,Jalna district recorded 96 cases and 4 deaths followed by Aurangabad registered 201 new cases and 3 deaths ,Parbhani had 21 new cases and single death ,Nanded had 60 cases, Beed had 53 cases ,Latur had 44 cases, Osmanabad registered 24 new cases and Hingoli 16 cases.

As per official data, 6,971 more corona cases and 35 deaths were reported from across the state during the past 24 hours, taking the state’s cumulative case tally to 21,00,884.

Meanwhile, 2,417 patients were cured and discharged from hospitals during the same period across the state, taking the total number of recoveries so far in Maharashtra to 19,94,947.

With this, the state’s recovery rate has now risen to 94.96 per cent and the death rate stands at 2.48 per cent.

According to the health officials, so far, a total of 51,788 patients have succumbed to the disease in the state and more than 52,956 active patients are currently under treatment in Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, cases of Covid again raising day by day across the state has put challenge before the health Administration.

However, the respective district administration has been taken several strict measures to control the raising trend of the Covid pandemic. (UNI)
