Marathwada region registers 682 new Covid cases, 43 fatalities

Aurangabad, Jun 11 : The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 682 new cases of COVID-19 and 42 fatalities during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed Today.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI show that out of the eight districts of the region, Latur district was the worst-affected recording 59 new cases and 12 deaths, followed by Aurangabad 138 cases and 8 deaths, Beed had 138 new cases and 7 deaths, Jalna 29 cases and 4 deaths, Osmanabad recorded 109 cases and 3 deaths,Parbhani 26 cases and 2 deaths, Hingoli had 26 cases and single death and Nanded had 127 cases and no death.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 12,207 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across Maharashtra, taking the total number of infections in the state to 58,76,087.

The state also registered 393 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,03,748.

Meanwhile,11,449 patients recovered in the state, taking the total number of recoveries to 56,08,753.

The state’s recovery rate jumps to 95.45 per cent while the fatality rate stands at 1.74 per cent.

At present, there are 1,60,693 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at various COVID-19 centres and hospitals, added the health authorities.(UNI)
