Marathwada region registers 679 Covid cases, 39 fatalities
Aurangabad, Jun 8 :The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 679 new cases of COVID-19 and 39 fatalities during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed Today.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI show that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad district was the worst-affected as it recorded 143 new cases and 14 deaths, followed by Latur which had 45 cases and 6 deaths, Beed had 155 new cases and 6 deaths, Osmanabad 142 cases and 6 deaths, Jalna recorded 46 cases and 5 deaths, Nanded 76cases and single death, Parbhani had 67 cases and single death and Hingoli had 5 cases and no death.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 10,219 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 58,42,000.
The state also registered 154 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,00,470.
Meanwhile, 21,082 patients recovered in the state, taking the total number of recoveries to 55,64,348.
The state’s recovery rate jumps to 95.25 per cent while the fatality rate stands at 1.72 per cent.
At present, there are 1,74,320 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at various COVID-19 centres and hospitals, added the health authorities.(UNI)
