Aurangabad, Jun 13 : The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 531 new cases of COVID-19 and 23 fatalities during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed Today.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI show that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad district was the worst-affected recording 95 new cases and 9 deaths, followed by Osmanabad 117 cases and 5 deaths, Beed had 180 new cases and 3 deaths, Parbahni 21 cases and 2 deaths, Nanded recorded 21 cases and 2 deaths,Latur 65 cases and single death, Hingoli had 12 cases and single death and Jalna had 26 cases .

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 10,697 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across Maharashtra, taking the total number of infections in the state to 58,98,550.

The state also registered 360 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,08,333.

Meanwhile,14,910 patients recovered in the state, taking the total number of recoveries to 56,31,767.

The state’s recovery rate jumps to 95.48 per cent while the fatality rate stands at 1.81 per cent.

At present, there are 1,55,474 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at various COVID-19 centres and hospitals, added the health authorities.(UNI)
