Marathwada region registers 397 new Covid cases, 29 fatalities

Aurangabad, Jun 14 :The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 397 new cases of COVID-19 and 23 fatalities during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed Today.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI show that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad district was the worst-affected recording 113 new cases and 11 deaths, followed by Jalna had 22 cases and six deaths, Osmanabad 63 cases and 4 deaths, Latur had 44 new cases and 4 deaths, Beed 108 cases and 3 deaths, Parbhani recorded 25 cases and single death, Nanded 20 cases and zero death and Hingoli had 2 cases and no death.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 10,482 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across Maharashtra, taking the total number of infections in the state to 59,08,992.

The state also registered 483 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,11,404.

Meanwhile, 7,504 patients recovered in the state, taking the total number of recoveries to 56,39,271.

The state’s recovery rate jumps to 95.44 per cent while the fatality rate goes up to 1.88 per cent.

At present, there are 1,55,588 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at various COVID-19 centres and hospitals, added the health authorities.(UNI)
