Marathwada in Maha registers 70 new COVID-19 cases, 5 deaths
Aurangabad, Oct 16 :Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 70 new cases of Covid-19 and five deaths in past 24 hours, the health authorities said today.
According to the details from the district headquarters collected by UNI, out of the eight districts of the region, Beed reported the highest number — 18 new cases and three deaths.
Beed was followed by Aurangabad, which reported 18 cases and two deaths, 14 cases from Osmanabad, 11 cases from Jalna, six cases from Latur, two cases from Parbhani and one case from Nanded.
Hingoli district has recorded no new case, the officials said.
Meanwhile, in past 24 hours, 2,149 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 65,88,429.
The state also registered 29 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,39,734.
Meanwhile, 1,898 patients recovered, pushing the total number of recoveries to 64,15,316. The recovery rate currently stands at 97.37 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.
At present, there are 29,782 active cases across Maharashtra, the health authorities added.(UNI)
