Hyderabad, Nov 10 :The city police have arrested a person for cheating innocent ladies in the name of love and living relationship and duped huge amounts & gold ornaments.

Police seized 18 tulas of gold, worth Rs 9 lakhs and two mobile phones from his possession.

On credible information, the sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone Team apprehended habitual cheater Shik Mohd Rafi (29) of Gachibowli and a native of East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh, a police release here said on Wednesday.

The accused was born and brought up at Hamsavaram (village), Tuni (Mandal), East Godavari (Distrist) of Andhra Pradesh State. He completed SSC, in the year 2019 discontinued Polytechnic course. In the month of August 2010 he came to Hyderabad and worked in different areas for his livelihood.

In the year 2017 he got married with one Asma Banu and blessed with one daughter. Due to dowry harassment, a case was registered against him at Gudur one Town Police Station, Nellore District of Andhra Pradesh. Since then he staying separately.

The accused used to trap the women through Instagram and Face book by using ID karthikvarma196 and developing communication with them, introduced himself as “he was born in USA and came to India in childhood. Further informing them that his parents are got separated, his mother is a Doctor at Singapore” and he is unmarried, he came to Hyderabad for temporarily. After developing contacts with the ladies by make friendship and maintains luxuries lifestyle and cars.

On the guise of love marriage maintains living relationship with the target lady victim. Later on deferent reasons demanded money, Gold ornaments from the victims for his lavish expenses and also he promising that he will return their money very soon.

After taking money the accused leave the place, not to respond the calls and messages of victims. In this manner he was cheated nearly 4 to 5 ladies in the limits of Hyderabad and disappear with the amount blacked phone number of victims.

The accused along with seized material handed over to SHO, S R Nagar Police Station for taking necessary action, the release added.(UNI)
