Thane, Jun 30 : The Kalyan Railway Police have arrested a 22-year-old man from Madhya Pradesh on the charge of allegedly kidnapping a 14-year-old girl from a village.
The girl was kidnapped by accused Arvind Kailas Singh from Patharia in Damhu, police said on Tuesday.
Following which, an offence under section 363 of Indian Penal Code was registered with the Patharia police station at MP in this connection.
On June 27, the girl was found loitering on the platform of Kalyan railway station by the Railway police on patrolling duty.
Upon enquiry, it was revealed that the parents of the girl had spotted the victim and the accused Singh at Pune and were taking them back to MP when the accused escaped with the victim.
The Kalyan railway police arrested accused Singh and restored the girl to her parents.
Singh has since been handed over to the MP police, sources added.(UNI)
