Puducherry, Feb 28 :Former Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao, elected from Yanam on Sunday said that the people of his constituency have decided to field N R Congress president N Rangasamy as the Yanam candidate in the April 6 elections.
In a video sent on Whats app, Mr Rao said that the decision was taken in a consultation meeting with his supporters today. Mr. Rao who had earlier announced that he will not contest elections anymore said that the people had agreed to support Rangasamy. He should come to Yanam once to file his nomination and can go back and it is their duty to make him win with a highest margin of votes in the union territory.
He said that he only wanted to fulfil the pending projects in Yanam. There is no difference as a Tamilian or Telugu, he said adding that 20 years back he had resigned his post to enable Mr. P Shanmugam to contest the elections. He said that he do not want any position and what all he want is development of Yanam. (UNI)
