Maharashtra under third wave of COVID-19: Min Tope
Mumbai, Jan 10 : Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope Today officially acknowledged the precipitous start of third COVID-19 wave across the state.
His statement came at the time when more than 10,000 new cases were detected in this city.
Meanwhile, 97 patients were found in crammed Dharavi, infamously known as Asia’s largest slum.
As per official data, Mumbai today registered 13,648 cases and five deaths, which are comparatively less compared to the tallies of recent days.
Meanwhile, the civic body has extended the closure of schools and colleges till February 15.
Hotels and restaurants have been allowed till 2200 hrs with 50 per cent capacity while malls, spas, gymnasiums and public grounds were totally shut down.(UNI)
