Aurangabad/Mumbai, April 22 : Maharashtra reported 179 fresh Covid-19 cases and one related death, according to health bulletin on Friday. With the addition of these new cases, the state’s cumulative case tally has surged to 78,76,380 and the death toll has gone up to 1,47,831 Meanwhile, 132 patients were discharged during the day after recovering from Covid, across the state, taking overall count of recoveries to 77,27,789. The state’s recovery rate significantly came down to 98.11 per cent and fatality rate to 1.87 per cent. Presently, 762 active patients were undergoing treatment in different hospitals, the bulletin added. Meanwhile, 3 positive cases were reported from the Marathwada region including 2 from Jalna district and one case from Aurangabad district. While no new Covid cases were reported from the remaining 6 districts of the region, the bulletin further added.(UNI)
