Maharashtra records max temp

Pune, May 12 : The highest maximum temperature of 42.8°C was reported at Chandrapur (Vidarbha).
Day temperatures were above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Andaman, Nicobar Islands, Konkan and Goa and coastal Karnataka; a few places over Saurashtra and Kutch; at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Karaikal.
They were markedly below normal (-5.1°C or more) at many places over Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Chhattisgarh; at a few places over Odisha and Himachal Pradesh at isolated places over West Bengal, Bihar, Punjab and east Madhya Pradesh; appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at many places over Jharkhand; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at many places over east Rajasthan and north interior Karnataka; at a few places over West Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam; at isolated places over Andaman, Nicobar Islands, west Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Maharashtra; at isolated places over Saurashtra, Kutch, Telangana, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yamam and near normal over rest parts of the country.
Thunderstorm observed (from 1730 hours IST of Yesterday to 0830 hours IST of today) at most places over Kerala and Mahe; at many places over Gangetic West Bengal, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam; at a few places over Assam, Meghalaya, Lakshadweep and south interior Karnataka; at isolated places over West Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, north interior Karnataka and Telangana. Hailstorm at isolated places over Uttarakhand, west Rajasthan and Telangana.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep and at many places in Assam and Meghalaya, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Rayalseema, south interior Karnataka and Kerala and at a few places in Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, Telangana and coastal Karnataka and at isolated places in Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Saurashtra and Kutch, Tamil Nadu, north interior Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Mainly dry weather prevailed in Gujarat region, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.(UNI)
