Maharashtra calls for ‘bandh’ on Oct 10 over farmers’ deaths in Lakhimpur Kheri

Mumbai, Oct 6 :Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra having allies Shiv Sena-Nationalist Congress Party-Congress have called for ‘Maharashtra Bandh’ today, Oct. 11 to protest against the death of farmers in Lakhimpur, Uttar Pradesh.
During the state Cabinet today, which was presided over by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, the members of the cabinet observed two minutes’ silence and passed a unanimous resolution condoling the farmers’ deaths expressing its anguish over the incidents.
The MVA has strongly condemned the Lakhimpur Kheri incident and accused the Bharatiya Janata Party-led governments at the Centre and in UP for the “oppressions and misuse of power,” and expressed the 3-party state government’s support to the agitation of farmers.
Senior ministers Eknath Shinde (SS), Jayant Patil (NCP), and Balasaheb Thorat (Congress) while to media said and added that all essential services will be kept out of purview.(UNI)
