Aurangabad, Jan 20 : Maharashtra’s Marathawada region has recorded 3,778 new Covid-19 cases and four deaths, health authorities informed Today.

Of the eight districts of Marathwada, Aurangabad recorded 1,097 cases and three deaths, followed by Nanded 758 cases and single death, Latur 782 cases, Osmanabad 334 cases, Jalna 282 cases, Parbhani 235 cases, Beed 205 cases and Hingoli 85 cases, they added.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra has reported 43,697 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the total infection count to 73,25,805.

The state also registered 49 more deaths, taking the toll to 1,41,934.

Meanwhile, 43,591 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 69,15,407 the recovery rate currently stands at 94.4 per cent while the fatality rate is 1.93 per cent.

The state currently has 2,64,708 active cases, the health authorities said.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra reported 214 fresh cases of Omicron, taking the tally to 2,074.

While 1,091 patients were cured so far, they added.(UNI)
