Maha: Marathwada reports 233 fresh COVID-19 cases, no deaths
Aurangabad, Jan 5 : The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 233 fresh COVID-19 cases and no related death on Tuesday, health authorities informed Today.
The district headquarters report stated that of eight districts in the region, Aurangabad recorded the maximum 103 cases followed by Osmanabad with 35 cases, Nanded had 29 cases, Latur 28 cases, Jalna 14 cases, Parbhani 13 cases, Beed 10 cases and Hingoli 3 cases , they added.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 18,466 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 67,30,494.
The state also registered 20 more related deaths, taking the death toll to 1,41,573.
Meanwhile, 4,558 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 65,18,916. The recovery rate currently stands at 96.86 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.1 per cent.
At present, there are 66,308 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
Meanwhile, 75 fresh cases of the new variant Omicron were reported in the state on Monday.
With this tally of Omicron cases climbed up to 653 with 259 patients having been cured so far, they added.(UNI)
