Maha: Marathwada reports 1,726 fresh Covid cases, 4 deaths
Aurangabad, Jan 14 :The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 1,726 fresh Covid-19 cases and 4 related deaths, health authorities informed Today.
Reports collected by UNI from the all district headquarters stated that of eight districts in the region, Aurangabad district reported the most 573 cases and three deaths followed by Jalna with 64 cases and one death, Latur district had 421 cases, Nanded had 400 cases, Osmanabad had 140 cases, Parbhani had 56 cases, Beed had 45 cases and Hingoli had 27 cases, they added.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 46,406 fresh cases of Covid-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 70,81,067.
The state also registered 36 more Covid deaths, taking the death toll to 1,41,737.
Meanwhile, 34,658 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 66,83,769. The recovery rate currently stands at 94.39 per cent while the fatality rate is 2 per cent.
At present, there are 2,51,828 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different Covid-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
Meanwhile, no new case of the Omicron variant was reported in the state, thus keeping the tally at 1,367
So far 775 patients have been cured, they added.(UNI)
