Maha: Marathwada registers 629 COVID cases, single death

Aurangabad, Jan 10 : The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 629 fresh COVID-19 cases and one related death, health authorities informed Today.

Reports collected by UNI from the all district headquarters stated that of eight districts in the region, Latur district recorded 108 cases and single death followed by Aurangabad 234 cases, Nanded district reported 147 cases, Parbhani had 46 cases, Jalna had 35 cases, Beed had 32 cases Osmanabad had 23 cases and Hingoli had 4 cases, they added.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 44,388 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 69,20,044.

The state also registered 12 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,41,639.

Meanwhile,15,351 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 65,72,432. The recovery rate currently stands at 94.98 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.04 per cent.

At present, there are 2,02,259 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.

Meanwhile, 207 fresh cases of the Omicron variant were reported in the state, taking the tally up to 1216.

So far 454 patients have been cured, they added.(UNI)
