Maha: Marathwada registers 49 fresh COVID-19 cases, no death

Aurangabad, Dec 30 :The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 49 fresh COVID-19 cases and no related death during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed Today.

The district headquarters report stated that of eight districts in the region, Osmanabad district recorded 19 cases followed by Aurangabad with 16 cases, Latur had 4 cases, Parbhani and Jalna had 3 cases each and Nanded and Beed had 2 cases each.

While, Hingoli district did not register any new COVID cases on Wednesday, they added.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 3,900 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 66,65,386.

The state also registered 20 more COVID related deaths, taking the death toll to 1,41,487.

Meanwhile, 1,306 patients recovered from COVID in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 65,06,137. The recovery rate currently stands at 97.61 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.

At present, there are 14,065 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.

Apart from this 85 fresh cases of the new vairant Omicron were reported in the state on Wednesday.

With this tally of Omicron cases climbed to 252 in the state, while 99 patients have been cured so far, they added.(UNI)
