Maha: Marathwada registers 312 new COVID-19 cases, 8 fatalities

Aurangabad, Jun 29 : The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 312 new cases of COVID-19 and eight fatalities during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed Today.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad reported the highest 45 new cases and 5 deaths, followed by Beed which had 129 cases and single death, Parbhani had 33 cases and single death, Hingoli had 3 cases and single death, Osmanabad had 67 cases, Latur had 16 cases, Jalna recorded 13 cases and Nanded district 6 cases.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 6,727 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across Maharashtra, taking the cumulative total number of infections in the state to 60,43,548.

The state also registered 101 new COVID deaths, taking the death toll to 1,21,573.

Meanwhile, 10,812 patients recovered in the state during the same time, pushing the total number of recoveries to 58,00,925.

The state’s recovery rate now stands at 95.99 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.01 per cent.

At present, there are 1,17,874 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at various COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.(UNI)
