Maha: Marathwada records 23 fresh COVID cases

Aurangabad, Dec 24 : The Marathwada region of Maharashtra has recorded 23 fresh Covid-19 cases and no death in the past 24 hours, health authorities said on Friday.
The district headquarters report stated that of eight districts in the region, Aurangabad district recorded 9 cases followed by Beed had 6 cases, Latur had 5 cases,Osmanabad had 2 cases and Nanded had single case .
While, Jalna ,Parbhani and Hingoli districts did not registered any Covid-19 cases on yesterday, they added.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 1179 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 66,53,345.
The state also registered 17 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,41,392.
Meanwhile,615 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 65,00,375 the recovery rate currently stands at 97.71 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.
At present, there are 7,897 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
Meanwhile,23 fresh cases of new vairant Omicron were spotted in the state on Thursday.
With this total toll of positive cases of Omicron climbed up to 88 while 42 were cured so far,they added.(UNI)
