Thane, Aug 26: As many as 193 new COVID-19 cases and eight death cases were recorded in the last 24 hours in the district, the official said Today.

With this, the total number of cases has spiked to 5,50,098 and fatalities have reached 11,264.

The mortality rate stood at 2.04 percent, he added.

In the neighboring Palghar district, the COVID-19 case count has gone up to 1,34,341 while the death toll is 3,285, he said. (UNI)
