Mah: Marathwada region registers 1,111 covid cases

Aurangabad, Mar 5 : The eight districts of Marathwada region reported 1,111 cases during the past 24 hours which is said to be the highest in recent days, health authorities informed on Saturday.

However, the authorities also said that 10 more patients succumbed during the same period.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI shows that out of the eight districts of the region Aurangabad district, one of worst affected in the region recorded 459 cases and 5 deaths followed by Parbhani with 47 new cases and 2 deaths, Nanded registered 88 new cases and two deaths, Latur recorded 108 cases and single death, Hingoli registered 46 cases and single death, while Beed and Osmanabad registered 95 and 26 new cases respectively.

As per official data, the biggest spike out of 10,216 fresh Covid-19 patients were reported and 53 more deaths in the state, taking the tally of such cases to 21,98,399 and the death toll to 52,393, respectively.

On the other hand, 6,467 patients were discharged during the day across the state, taking the overall count of recoveries to 20,55,951.

There are now 88,838 active cases in the state.

With this, the recovery rate in the state has gone down to 93.52 per cent and the death rate stood at 2.38 per cent, sources in the Health Department said. (UNI)
