Mah: Jayakwadi level likely to cross 80 percent by evening

Aurangabad, Sep 25:The water level in the Jayakwadi irrigation dam which is the biggest across the state situated in the holy town at Paithan of district crossed 79 percent at 0800 hours and will cross 80 percent by this evening as the inflow of water from upstream dams of Nashik and Ahmednagar have continued unabated since last couple days, officials said today.
The Command Area Development Authority (CADA) sources stated that the dam currently has a stock of 2456.509 MCM water including death storage and 1718.403 MCM live storage in 1517 .94 feet and 462.667 meter which was 79.15 percent at 0800 hours with an inflow of 15,604 cases per second at present which compared to last year 98 percent stock on the same day.

Due to heavy rainfall in catchments areas of upper Godavari river dams were filled up in Nashik district and excess water started to flow toward Jayakwadi dam. (UNI)
