Mah govt preps up to save children from 3rd COVID wave
Aurangabad/Mumbai, May 27 : A special task force of paediatricians was set up Today to provide guidance on preventive measures and treatment of COVID infection in children.
According to Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope, the task force has been established under the chairmanship of Dr Suhas Prabhu along with 13 expert doctors from across the state while the Director of Medical Education and Research is its Member Secretary.
“The state is currently experiencing a second COVID wave. Genetic mutations and mutations in the corona virus are likely to cause a third wave of corona infection in young children,” he explained.
“CM Uddhav Thackeray had directed to appoint a task force of pediatricians to protect children and develop necessary treatment methods. On Sunday, the CM had interacted with pediatricians across the state and discussed the treatment of children in case of a possible third wave,” he added.(UNI)
