Aurangabad, Feb 19 : The birth anniversary of great Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s is being celebrated with traditional fervour and enthusiasm in the city and across the Marathwada region here on Saturday. Across the eight districts of the region, various programmes are being organized on the occasion by the various sections of societies including political, non political, social and school students across the region. In Aurangabad the tallest statue of Shivaji Maharaj at Kranthi chowk was inaugurated by the state chief minister last night virtually. Since morning various organisations reached the Kranthi chowk and paid tributes to Shivaji Maharaj. Entire city is coloured in a blanket of saffron including flags, banners and posters on this occasion. The Cidco-Hudco Ustav Samithi also organized Shivjayanthi Ustav’ at the TV center. Police have made heavy security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident in the city during the celebration. Meanwhile, the reports are reaching here from the Marathwada region’s rest of the District about the celebration of Sivjayanthi. (UNI)
