Mah: Aurangabad reported 240 new COVID cases, no deaths

Aurangabad, Feb 23 : With the detection of 240 more COVID-19 cases on Monday, the pandemic tally in this district surged to 49,010 on Tuesday.

Out of 240 new cases 219 were from Aurangabad municipal corporation areas and 21 from the rural parts of district.

While no death was recorded during the past 24 hours thereby keeping the death toll steady at 1, the district administration sources confirmed on Tuesday.

On Tuesday 76 cured patients, including 23 patients from the municipal corporation areas and 53 from the rural areas were discharged from hospitals after being cured of the virus.

With this, a total of 46,650 patients have been cured from COVID in the district so far.



While currently 1,105 active patients are under treatment, they added.

Meanwhile, in view of a rise in the number of new COVID cases the district administration has decided to impose section 144 from 2300 hours to 0600 hours up to March 8 across the district to prevent the spread of the virus. (UNI)
