KTR issues a warning that if Congress is elected, industry may relocate to Karnataka.

HYDERABAD, NOV 4 :BRS Working President K T Rama Rao on Saturday insinuated that if Congress came to power in Telangana, the state’s industries would be relocated to Karnataka.

To substantiate his claim, KTR read out a letter written by Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar to Foxconn, urging the company to shift its manufacturing unit from Telangana to Karnataka.

KTR recounted how the Telangana government conducted multiple meetings with Foxconn’s leadership, leading to the company’s decision to establish its unit in Telangana. He mentioned that Foxconn had signed an MoU with the Telangana government in 2022, creating employment opportunities for one lakh people in the region.

KTR expressed concerns that if Congress came to power in Telangana, industries like Foxconn, which provide employment to one lakh people, would relocate to Bangalore.

He also referenced DK Shivakumar’s campaign statements in Telangana, where Shivakumar mentioned that the Congress in Karnataka was supplying five hours of electricity. KTR suggested that farmers were now apprehensive that Congress might follow the same approach if it came to power in Telangana.

Discussing Karnataka politics, KTR noted that Shivakumar was vying for the CM’s position, with Mallikarjun Kharge’s son also expressing his desire to lead. He emphasised that Congress often engaged in camp politics and frequently changed Chief Ministers, leading to political instability.

KTR remarked that Congress leaders were bringing Shivakumar and Rahul Gandhi to compete against KCR, while the BJP was bringing PM Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and over 15 Chief Ministers and Union Ministers from different states.

Referring to Rahul Gandhi as a “Delhi Dhora,” KTR mentioned a tragic incident from the early 1950s when police opened fire on five students after they chanted the slogan “Idly – Sambar go back” during the time of Rahul Gandhi’s grandfather, Jawahar Lal Nehru.

KTR highlighted the historical conflicts between the people of Telangana and Congress, including Jawahar Lal Nehru’s role in forcefully uniting Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in 1956 and the killing of 370 students during the Telangana statehood movement in 1968. He also referenced the absorption of 11 parliamentarians from Telangana Praja Samithi into Congress in 1971 to dilute the Telangana movement.

KTR mentioned that although Congress had promised to support Telangana statehood in 2004, it took 10 years until 2014 for the agitation to intensify and achieve the goal. He claimed that Congress provided Telangana not out of respect but under pressure.

KTR stressed that the people of Telangana had a history of fighting for their rights and mentioned that PM Modi took five years to establish a high court in Telangana.

He stated that Congress had a history of engaging in divisive and self-serving politics, citing an incident from 1991 when Congress leaders incited communal riots in an attempt to remove Marri Channareddy from power.

KTR asserted that none of the Congress or BJP leaders in Telangana demonstrated independent decision-making and all operated under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and PM Modi. He urged the people not to take risks by entrusting Telangana to such leaders.(UNI)
