K’taka: Cong gives moral support to ‘Bharat Bandh’
Bengaluru, Sep 26 : Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president DK Shivakumar today extended moral support to ‘Bharat Bandh’ called by farmers who are protesting against three farm laws enacted by the Centre last year.
“Farmers have suffered during the seven-year-rule of the Modi government and therefore this has prompted them to launch protests. We extend moral support to Bharat Bandh called by farmers,” Shivakumar said while addressing a rally here.
Shivakumar said the central government has not made any efforts to discuss the three farm laws passed in the Parliament even though the farmers have been protesting for several months.
However, the Union Government and BJP is ready to answer those who are creating confusion with the farmers’ laws, he quipped.
The Karnataka social welfare and backward class minister Kota Srinivas Poojary said many vested interests are trying to mislead the farmers on this issue.
Farmers will have opportunities to sell their products without having to worry about the middlemen, Poojary said.(UNI)
