Khaire donates one month’s pension to paralyzed journalist

Aurangabad, May 23 : Former Shiv Sena Aurangabad MP and senior party leader Chandrakant Khaire announced Rs 60,000 aid to paralyzed senior Marathi journalist Bhimsen Sarkate.
According to the official press release from Mr Khaire’s office that was issued on Saturday night, a delegation of Editors and Press Reporters Association led by its president Ratan Kumar Salve met Mr Khaire yesterday morning and informed him about Sarkate’s condition who was paralyzed and bed ridden since last three years.
A statement in this regard was handed over to Mr Khaire by Mr Salve.

Considering this statement sympathetically, Khaire pledged to provide assistance of Rs 60,000 to Mr Sarkate from his pension.

The aid will be handed over at Mr Sarkate’s residence on June 3.

Mr Salve and all his fellow journalists expressed satisfaction at Mr Khaire’s
gesture.
After announcing his intension of extending help, Khaire recounted his experiences in political life.
“We have always been serving the general public,” Khaire said.

Journalists like Ratan Kumar Salve, Babanrao Sonawane, Rameshwar Darekar, Ganesh Pawar, Jagannath Supekar, Hasan Shah, Sheikh Shafiq, Sunil Nikalje, Ramesh Bavaskar were present on the occasion.(UNI)
