Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 5 : Kerala reported 9,735 fresh COVID positive cases and 151 deaths today, showing no respite from rising number of COVID cases and deaths in the State.

About 13,878 people have recovered from the disease today, a press release from the health department said this evening.

Meanwhile, 151 recent deaths were confirmed today as due to Covid, taking the death toll in the state to 25,677.

About 93,202 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. Currently, 4,03,141 people are under observation in the state — 3,87,353 are at their homes or institutional quarantine centres and 15,788 in hospitals.

In hospitals today, 1,128 people were admitted with virus Infection.

Weekly Infection Population Ratio (WIPR) is above 10 at 745 wards where strict restriction is being imposed.

In the last 24 hours, Covid was not detected in any person who recently came to Kerala from the UK. So far, 11 people who came from the UK were diagnosed with the virus.(UNI)
