Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 27 : Kerala reported 9,445 fresh COVID positive cases and 93 deaths on Wednesday showing no respite from rising number of COVID cases and deaths in the State.

About 6,723 people have recovered from the disease today, a press release from the health department said this evening.

“Meanwhile, 93 recent deaths were confirmed due to COVID today. Another 330 deaths having no proper records were added to the COVID death list based on the Centre’s guidelines. About 199 deaths were also added to the list based on appeal seeking its inclusion in the list taking the death toll in the state to 29,977,” the release added.

About 82,689 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. Currently, 2,68,639 people are under observation in the state — 2,60,359 are at their homes or institutional quarantine centres and 8,280 in hospitals.

Total 619 people were admitted to the hospital with virus today. Weekly Infection Population Ratio (WIPR) is above 10 per cent at 211 wards where strict restriction is being imposed.(UNI)
