Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 26 : Kerala reported 7,163 fresh COVID cases and 90 deaths Today, showing no respite from rising number of COVID cases and deaths in the State.

About 6,960 people have recovered from the disease today, a press release from the health department said this evening.

“Meanwhile, 90 recent deaths were confirmed due to COVID today. Another 341 deaths having no proper records were added to the COVID death list based on the Centre’s guidelines. About 51 deaths were also added to the list based on appeal seeking its inclusion in the list taking the death toll in the state to 29,355,” the release added.

About 79,122 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. Currently, 2,69,762 people are under observation in the state –2,61,197 are at their homes or institutional quarantine centres and 8,565 in hospitals.

Total 614 people also admitted to the hospital with virus today. Weekly Infection Population Ratio (WIPR) is above 10 per cent at 211 wards where strict restriction is being imposed.(UNI)
