Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 8 : Kerala reported 5,404 fresh COVID positive cases and 80 deaths Today showing no respite from rising number of COVID cases in the State.

About 6,136 people have recovered from the disease today, a press release from the health department said this evening.

“Meanwhile, 80 recent deaths were confirmed due to COVID today. About 182 deaths were also added to the list based on appeals seeking its inclusion in the list taking the death toll in the state to 33,978” the release added.

About 52,862 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. Currently 2,30,903 people are under observation in the state — 2,25,018 are at their homes or institutional quarantine centres and 5,885 in hospitals.

In hospitals, 318 people were admitted with virus Infection today. Weekly Infection Population Ratio (WIPR) is above 10 at 46 wards where strict restriction is being imposed.(UNI)
