Thiruvananthapuram, May 4 : Kerala reported 37,190 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.

The today’s new cases were detected from 1,42,588 sample tests in the last 24 hours (Test Positivity Rate is 26.08%), he said while addressing a press conference here this evening.

Ernakulam district has reported over 5,000 new active cases. There are 118 healthcare workers among those infected today.

At present, there are 3,56,872 patients under treatment in the state for the disease while 26,148 patients have recovered today. 57 recent deaths were also confirmed as due to Covid and the related death toll in the State is now 5,507.(UNI)
