Kerala reports 2,514 fresh COVID cases, 54 deaths
Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 24 : Kerala reported 2,514 fresh COVID cases and 54 deaths on Thursday, showing no respite from rising number of COVID cases in the State.
About 3,427 people have recovered from the disease today, a press release from the health department said this evening.
“Meanwhile, 54 recent deaths were confirmed due to COVID today. About 269 deaths were also added to the list based on appeals seeking its inclusion in the list taking the death toll in the State to 45,861,” the release added.
About 55,631 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. Currently, 1,31,345 people are under observation in the State — 1,27,397 are at their homes or institutional quarantine centres and 3,948 in hospitals.
Today, 178 people infected with virus were admitted in hospitals in the State. Weekly Infection Population Ratio (WIPR) is above 10 at six wards where strict restriction is being imposed.(UNI)
