Kerala reports 13,772 new COVID cases, 11,414 recoveries

Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 8; Covid-19 was newly detected in 13,772 persons in Kerala Today while 11,414 patients have recovered from the disease, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.

In a press release here this evening, the CM said “1,27,152 samples were tested during the last 24 hours and the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) is 10.83 %. A total of 2,40,45,894 samples have been sent for testing till this day.”

Meanwhile, 142 recent deaths were confirmed today as due to Covid taking the death toll in the state to 14,250.

In the last 24 hours, Covid was not detected in any person who recently came to Kerala from the UK taking the total to 128, and their samples have been sent to NIV, Pune for further testing. So far, 11 people who came from the UK were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus. (UNI)
