Kerala faces 12,288 fresh COVID cases, 141 deaths
Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 7 : Kerala reported 12,288 fresh COVID positive cases and 141 deaths today, showing no respite from rising number of COVID cases and deaths in the State.
About 15,808 people have recovered from the disease Thursday, a statement from the health department said this evening.
Meanwhile, 141 recent deaths were confirmed Thursday due to Covid taking the death toll in the state to 25,952.
About 99,312 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. Currently 3,77,128 people are under observation in the state — 3,62,444 are at their homes or institutional quarantine centres and 14,684 in hospitals.
In hospitals today, 1,016 people were admitted with the virus infection.
Weekly Infection Population Ratio (WIPR) is above 10 at 332 wards where strict restriction is being imposed.
In the last 24 hours, Covid was not detected in any person who recently came to Kerala from the UK. So far, 11 people who came from the UK were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.(UNI)
