Kejriwal to visit Bagha Purana to support agitators

Chandigarh, Mar 18 :The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday charged that the central government is making every effort to suppress the agitation of the farmers.
Addressing a press conference here, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Punjab Assembly Harpal Singh Cheema claimed that the AAP was the first party to oppose the central farm laws, the first party to support the farmers’ march to Delhi and the only party that stood shoulder to shoulder along with the farmers in their struggle.
He said that in order to strengthen the farmers’ movement and to raise their voice further, AAP’s national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal would visit Bagha Purana on March 21.
He appealed to every citizen of Punjab to come along with their families in large numbers to Bagha Purana on March 21 and strengthen the farmers agitation.
Cheema said that the farmer has been cheated by the central government.
He alleged that the government had stabbed the farmers in the back and had conspired to take away their land from them.
“The AAP always stood with the farmers and raised their voice from the road to the Parliament,” he said and added that when the farmers were protesting in severe cold and harsh weather, the AAP members helped the farmers by working as ‘sewadar’.(UNI)
