Kejriwal kickstarts events to celebrate 75 yrs of India’s Independence
New Delhi, Mar 12 : Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday kick-started Delhi government’s 75-week-long programmes to celebrate 75th anniversary of India’s Independence.
The cultural programmes under the banner–Delhi celebrates Freedom@75–began with an event held at Connaught Place in Delhi.
Mr Kejriwal unfurled the National Flag and felicitated several eminent citizens who have made exceptional contributions to society.
On the occasion, Mr Kejriwal said that food, water, electricity, shelter, employment are the dreams of 130 crore Indians, and that people should together make a resolution to fulfill them.
He also said that people of all castes and religions should have access to equal opportunities.
Mr Kejriwal said by fulfilling these dreams, India will become number one again.
He said the AAP government has made comprehensive plans to celebrate the 75 years of India’s independence.
Several activities and dance and music sessions of the Art and Culture department were also organized.
The program also witnessed eminent singer Palash Sen’s music concert.(UNI)
