Bengaluru, Jul 8 : Karnataka has reported 9808 fresh cases of the COVID-19 disease in the last 24-hours taking the total number of people infected from the disease so far in the state to 2717289 Today.

According to official sources, while as many as 179 COVID-19 patients had succumbed to the pandemic the total number of fatalities in the state surged to 32099.

The sources said that while as many as 23499 COVID-19 patients, got discharged from various hospitals across the state after being completely cured of the disease there exist as many as 225004 active cases

across the state.

The sources informed that while the state Capital Bengaluru has reported the highest deaths of 44 patients, Mysuru district had reported 15, Haveri 11, Shivamogga 10, Gadag 9 and Bengaluru Rural district reported 8 deaths in the last 24-hours.

While as many as 130224 people had undergone the COVID-19 tests in the last 24-hours, the positivity rate for the day accounted for 7.53 per cent and the Case fatality rate stood at 1.82 per cent,
