JSW Steel’s group combined output rises 28 per cent in Oct-Dec quarter

Mumbai, Jan 11 : Sajjan Jindal-led JSW Steel Today  reported a 28 per cent jump in group combined crude steel production at 5.35 million tonnes for the quarter ended December 31, 2021.
The company had produced 4.18 million tonnes in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
“JSW Steel reported group combined crude steel production at 5.35 million tonnes for Q3 FY 2022, including the production at jointly controlled entity JSW Ispat Special Products (JISPL),” the company said in a regulatory filing.
On a standalone basis, JSW Steel reported a 8 per cent increase in crude steel production at 4.41 million tonnes as compared to 4.08 million tonnes in Q3 FY2021.
During the quarter, the capacity utilisation of existing operations at standalone level was at 94 per cent.
“Bhushan Power & Steel’s production for Q3 FY2022 was lower mainly due to the shutdown of a continuous strip plant for 10 days for upgrading automation,” it said.
The flagship business of the diversified USD 13 billion JSW Group, JSW Steel, having a capacity of 28 MTPA in India & USA (including capacities under joint control), has set a roadmap for the next phase of growth that includes a target of achieving 37.5 MTPA steel capacity by FY2025.(UNI)
