Agartala, June 17 :Highlighting the development initiatives of Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre, BJP national president J P Nadda on Saturday accused Congress and Left parties of corruption and nepotism without considering the interest of the country and its future.The Défense Minister of UPA government did not allow to build of border roads along China, which paved the way for the Chinese government to create communication infrastructure on the other side of the border, Nadda said adding, “Now India is safe because Modi government in nine years developed the border areas and proved the strength of India to enemies.”He was addressing a mammoth rally for the 9th anniversary of the Narendra Modi government along with Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, party state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, former Deputy Chief Minister and veteran saffron leader Jishnu Dev Varma, Union Minister of State Pratima Bhowmik and Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb, which was the beginning of the poll campaign of next year’s general election.Although he spoke about the development initiatives of the government in north-eastern states including roads, railways, airways, and connectivity issues did not utter a single word about the ongoing bloodshed and communal violence in Tripura’s next neighbour Manipur over a month. Nadda evaded the media interaction at the airport on Friday night upon his arrival on a special flight.The BJP government at the centre and Manipur have been blamed for the crisis.However, Nadda said Modi has already built 74 airports including seven in the northeast during his nine years tenure, which Congress-led previous governments had done in the last 65 years of rule. India got a facelift in healthcare, agriculture, digital infrastructure, and self-reliance activities during Modi’s role, which has been acclaimed by global leaders and the presidents ofmany countries expressed these in public and touched the feet of Modi, he claimed.Before addressing the rally, Nadda visited the house of renowned Rabindra music artist Thithi Debbarman at Krishnanagar and Dronacharya awardee gymnast coach Vishveshwar Nandi’s house at Pragati Road in the morning as part of his public contact program. He had a meeting with the party leaders and state functionaries on Friday night at State Guest House over organisational issues and advised them to work together for strengthening BJP.(UNI)
