In Tirumala, the heavy pilgrimage surge continues.
TIRUMALA, MAY 20 : The pilgrims continued to throng this temple town in large numbers for past three days in view of ongoing summer vacation.
The mid-summer vacation rush in May has reached its peak this weekend, as almost all academic examinations are over for students across the country.
TTD has made elaborate arrangements for multitude of visiting pilgrims by erecting barricades for outside lines starting at Kalyana Vedika in an outer ring road that stretches to nearly five kilometres.
Continuous supply of Annaprasadam, water distribution at various points all through the stretch up to Krishna Teja Circle with the help of Srivari Seva volunteers has been ensured at outside lines.
The on duty medical teams supplied medicines and ORS packets to needy devotees through battery-operated buggies.
On instructions of TTD executive officer, A V Dharma Reddy, all senior officers led by JEO Veerabrahmam have been put on round-the-clock surveillance at Tirumala to ensure hassle-free arrangements for pilgrims.
It took about 24 hours for devotees, who joined long queues at Octopus Circle, to offer prayers to presiding deity, as per reports reaching here on Sunday evening.(UNI)
