In next 24 hrs, monsoon likely to cover parts of MP, UP, Rajasthan
Pune, Jun 18 : Southwest monsoon Today further advanced into some more parts of north Arabian sea, most parts of Gujarat region, some parts Saurashtra, southeast Rajasthan and some more parts of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
During next 24 hours, conditions are favorable for further monsoon advance into remaining parts of north Arabian Sea and Gujarat, some more parts of south Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh.
The monsoon has been vigorous over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, east Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand.
While, it’s active over Himachal Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Chhattisgarh and north interior Karnataka.
Day temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C and more) at a few places over Arunachal Pradesh; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5°C) at a few places over Andaman, Nicobar Islands, Assam and Meghalaya; above normal (1.6°C to 3°C); at many places over Saurashtra and Kutch; at a few places over Lakshadweep; at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Pudducherry, Kerala and Mahe.
They were markedly below normal (-5.1°C and less) at most places over Jharkhand; at many places over Gangetic West Bengal and east Uttar Pradesh; at a few places over Odisha, Bihar, Jammu–Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Maharashtra; at isolated places over east Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh; appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5°C) at most places over west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and west Rajasthan; at many places over Marathwada and Telangana; at a few places over Uttarakhand, east Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat Region and Vidarbha; below normal (-1.6°C to -3°C) at most places over Punjab; at many places over Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and interior Karnataka and at a few places over Rayalaseema and near normal over rest parts of the country.
The highest maximum temperature of 39.5°C was reported at Gwalior (west Madhya Pradesh).
Thunderstorm observed (from 0830 hours IST of yesterday to 0830 hours IST of today) at a few places over Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch; at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Gangetic west Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, west Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka, north Interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at many places in Odisha, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Himachali Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada, Telangana and south interior Karnataka and at a few places in west Uttar Pradesh, Jammu-Kasmir and Ladakh, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat region,, Saurashtra and Kutch, Madhya Maharashtra and coastal Andhra Pradesh.
