In coming days, monsoon likely to cover Mah, AP, Telangana

Pune, Jun 8 : Southwest monsoon is likely to advance into remaining parts of Maharashtra (including Mumbai), Telangana and Andhra Pradesh; some parts of Odisha and more parts of West Bengal during next 2-3 days.

The southwest Monsoon has subdued over interior Karnataka.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Kerala; at isolated places over Tamil Nadu and Gangetic West Bengal; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Bihar; at a few places over Lakshadweep; at isolated places over Odisha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

They were markedly below normal (-5.1°C and more) at many places over Assam and Meghalaya; at a few places over Arunachal Pradesh. appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at most places over Marathwada; at many places over Madhya Maharashtra; at a few places over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Chhattisgarh; at isolated places over Telangana and east Rajasthan; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at many places over Gujarat Region and north interior Karnataka; at a few places over Saurashtra and Kutch; at isolated places over Konkan, Goa, east Uttar Pradesh and near normal over rest parts of the country.

The highest maximum temperature of 45°C was reported at Ganganagar in west Rajasthan.

Thunderstorm observed (from 0830 hours IST of yesterday to 0830 hours IST of today) at a few places over Uttarakhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand; at isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya, Bihar, Vidharbha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Mahe.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Konkan and Goa and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at many places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal and Vidarbha and at a few places in Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Marathwada, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, east Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat state, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather prevailed in Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh and west Rajasthan.(UNI)
