IAF chief Chaudhari to inaugurate Diamond Jubilee ISAM Conference in Bengaluru
Bengaluru, Nov 22 : Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari will inaugurate three-day Diamond Jubilee Conference of Indian Society of Aerospace Medicine here from November 25.
The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Aerospace Medicine: Atmosphere and Beyond’. It will have guest orations, multiple scientific sessions and poster presentations, besides it will be hybrid in nature due to the Covid pandemic.
About 200 participants are expected to attend the conference online from various parts of the country and about 75 delegates from various Institutes will physically attend the conference.
The Indian Society of Aerospace Medicine holds its 60th annual conference this year amidst an aerospace environment that has undergone an upheaval in civil aviation due to Covid-19 pandemic. It has embarked on new journeys in Military Aircraft platforms and is poised for a leap into Space.
The Indian Society of Aerospace Medicine was established in 1952 by a group of Air Force Medical Officers stationed in Delhi who could foresee the medical support that could be required to meet the physiological and psychological challenges of flying. The first conference of the society was held in 1954 to deliberate the scientific meeting.
Over the years the society has diligently and regularly conducted the scientific annual gatherings that have indeed helped find solutions to all aeromedical issues. This Diamond Jubilee year celebrates Aerospace Medicine’s finest hour in facing an unprecedented global challenge.
Distinguished professionals from the field of Aerospace Medicine, both military and civil, aircrew, members of the civil aviation industry and DRDO will attend the conference.
The prestigious Subroto Mukerjee Memorial Oration will be delivered by Dr Quay C Synder, President, Aviation Medicine Advisory Service, on the topic ‘Pilot Physician’s Evolution to HIMS.(UNI)
