Hyd: Police are making last-minute preparations for the Ganesh idol immersion procession.

HYDERABAD, SEP 14 :  With the final Ganesh idol procession and immersion just 72 hours away, the Hyderabad City Police is in the final stages of meticulous preparation to ensure the smooth execution of this grand event.
A joint route inspection was conducted on Saturday involving multiple departments.
The inspection was led by Dr Jitender, DGP, Telangana, and included key officials such as C V Anand, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City; Amrapali Kata, Commissioner, GHMC; Anudeep Durishetti, District Collector, Hyderabad and among others have participated.
The inspection commenced at the famous Balapur Ganesh Temple and covered several key locations along the 19 km main procession route, which stretches from Balapur to Hussain Sagar, passing through Chandrayanagutta, Falaknuma, Charminar, Nayapool, MJ Market, and Telugu Talli Flyover.
The DGP instructed officials to ensure seamless coordination and resolve any pending issues promptly.
Anand, CP, Hyderabad, stressed the role of the City Police as the nodal department and emphasized the importance of ensuring the smooth and swift movement of the procession. All ranks of the City Police were called upon to contribute their best efforts.
The team walked from Rajesh Medical Hall to Gulzar Houz and also stopped at M.J. Market Junction and Telugu Talli Junction to assess the procession’s flow and evaluate the roles of Law & Order and Traffic departments. Other department officials shared updates on their respective arrangements.
Officials reiterated the importance of timely movement of idols from various zones, with particular attention to en-route height restrictions and junction clearances.
For the Ganesh Festival, nearly 25,000 police personnel will be deployed, comprising both Hyderabad City Police and forces from other areas. Provisions have been made for their accommodation and meals. Various roads that form part of the procession route will either remain closed for regular traffic or experience diversions. Multiple Quick Response Teams, dog squads, Anti-Chain Snatching teams, and SHE teams will also be deployed to ensure public safety.
A joint command and control center, featuring senior officers from departments such as GHMC, HMDA, Transco, R&B, Water Works, RTA, Medical and Health, will be fully operational from the early hours of September 17 at TGC&CC.
The Hyderabad City Police has appealed to the public to cooperate with law enforcement and follow safety guidelines, ensuring that this year’s Ganesh idol procession and immersion are both memorable and incident-free, according to a police statement.(UNI)
