Husband arrested for brutally killing his wife in Navi Mumbai

Thane, April 25 : The Navi Mumbai police have arrested a 40-year-old man from Karanjade of Panvel on the charge of allegedly brutally killing his wife with a sickle.
An offence under section 302 of Indian Penal Code has been registered at the Panvel Town police station against the accused Santosh Patil, police said.
On Saturday morning at around 1100 hours, the neighbours saw the 11-year-old son of the couple standing outside the house and crying.
Upon enquiry, he informed them that he had been driven out by the father and the couple was quarreling with each other over a petty issue.
Following which, the neighbours alerted the police arrived at the scene and forced Santosh to open the door and found him covered with blood. He confessed to having killed his wife.
Then, the police went in the house and found the victim, Sandhya (35), lying in a pool of blood and the walls splashed with blood.
When inquired, Santosh informed the police that he had not been feeling well for past two days and wanted the wife to take him to the doctor but she declined and hence he picked up the sickle in the house and attacked her fatally.
Sandhya used to catch fish in the locality and sell, and the family lived on it, sources added.(UNI)
