Hubballi: Woman, who attempted suicide, stable
Hubballi, April 7: The condition of a woman who attempted suicide near the Resident-cum-office of the Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Coal Mr. Prahlad Joshi here is stable, Dr. Arun Kumar, Superintendent of the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hospital said here on Wednesday.
Dr. Kumar told UNI that however, she is under a 24 Hours observation. Her condition will be analysed only after the completion of the observation period, he added.
According to an official press release issued by the Dharwad district administration, the woman lives in Garage Village in Dharwad Taluk with her physically challenged husband and their house had sustained damage during the heavy rains last year and they were given a compensation of Rupees 50,000 towards the repairs of the house. But, the couple were demanding more money and in that connection, she was visiting the office of the Union Minister seeking additional funds as her village falls under the jurisdiction of Mr. Joshi’s constituency.
The release further said that the husband of the woman is getting a monthly allowance of Rupees 1,400 which is granted for physically challenged persons by the state government.
According to a local police official, the woman was immediately taken by Ambulance to the KIMS Hospital for treatment by the security staff yesterday. According to the attending doctors, the woman is not in a position to give any statement for the next 24 hours time, he added. (UNI)
